I can has new toys...heck yes!

I’m not in a bad mood anymore. Why? The Hubby surprised me this morning after my little row with the laptop yesterday. I suspect he doesn't want to buy a new one when I rip this one apart with my bare hands, or he’s just particularly thoughtful. Anyway, he secretly got me two new toys (the first is really supposed to be for my classroom, but we all know why he got me this particular thing. The second because he thought, "It just seemed to suit me."). They arrived just today which is fantastic timing.

SUPER SQUEE!!! It's a replica of Professor Snape’s wand from the movies, complete with the basket weave pattern detail on the hilt! At one point, I said I needed a sturdy pointer to use when teaching, and he remembered. This is what he decided I needed. I guess that makes him thoughtful after all. If only I could get the darned thing to work…

He also got me a Time-Turner.

Ooh! Pretty!

I like that you can justify having a wand for classroom use :p

Thank you! I have little bits of HP stashed throughout my classroom. The kids are used to too it, and all of them like it because it’s different. I actually use something similar to house points in my classroom. I sort with an old hat too, which is great fun on the first day. Once my 30 or so kids are sorted into the four teams I start to give and deduct points. The team at the end with the most points gets a party thrown for them by the other three. It’s quite fun and a good way to encourage the kids to work together.
