I’ve put it off for far too long…  
And now it’s going to whip my arse.

I start Couch-to-5K tomorrow as well as a 60 day trial with the Insanity workout. Would’ve started both today, but it’s too bloody hot to even breathe outside. I couldn’t imagine running in the heat. So tomorrow, the regimen begins promptly at 6:30—before it gets too hot, but mostly because I won’t have to deal with people watching my flab shimmy while I run. My goal is to get back down to the weight I was when I started college. I’ve got about 20lbs to lose, and hope it comes from the thighs rather than the chest area.

There is a 5K in August in the city where I live, but the one I’m really looking forward to is the Urban Mountain challenge in January. It’s basically a stair climbing race, roughly 29 floors and around 638 stairs. Last year, someone finished in four minutes, which leads me to believe he found a way to teleport and isn’t telling the rest of us.

In other news, today is my wedding anniversary. We’ve not done a thing today except be lazy. Dinner has been planned for the weekend as well as a trip to the bookstore. Tomorrow it is the midnight showing of the new Superman movie. The hubs is excited, but I’ll have to remember to take some headache meds as the 3-D glasses mess with my head.

Hope all is well with the f-list, especially those that will inevitably have to deal with this massive threat of severe weather. We’re under an advisory here, but all of that is supposed to change tonight. I’ve got the cat carriers and the emergency duffle by the door in case the wind gets out of hand.

Ooh! Let me know how the Insanity work out goes! That looks like a ridiculous amount of hard work!

Hope the crazy weather passes you by :)

I watched the hubs go through one sixty day round. It was tough, but he was able to lose almost 40lbs in two months. I'm hoping with Insanity and Couch-to-5K I can walk to the postbox without getting winded!

I hope it passes by as well. I just received a notice from the local t.v. station reminding people to take the threat seriously. *sigh* Apparently it's going to show itself between midnight and 6 A.M.

Thanks, I totally almost forgot myself! We've only been married for three years, but we've been together for ten. It all runs together lol

Sometimes you just need to take time off to relax.

Good luck on both fitness endeavors. I'd love to hear about your experience with both. I plan/hope/considered doing the Couch-5K so that'll be interesting to learn about. I've done P90X before (not the whole thing unfortunately) and boy was it INTENSE!

Thank you! You're right. We slept in this morning and have sat around the biggest part of the day...mostly because it's hot, but we're also being lazy before we start the workout.

I'll let you know how it goes, provided I'm able to move afterwards. This is the hubs second round. He lost almost 40Lbs the first time. So I am hopefully to tone everything up.
